Frieda O. Weise resides in Maryland with her husband Paul Keller and two cats, Sammy Sosa, the Home Run Cat and Cranston, the Stealth Cat. She has been interested in photography for years, stemming from the many snapshots taken by her Dad over time and encouragement from Paul. She became a serious amateur photographer a few years ago when she joined a camera club and began to enter competitions and exhibits. She now sells her work, primarily as unique note cards. Having grown up in rural Pennsylvania, she concentrates on nature, but also on other subjects, such as barns and still lifes. Travel photography is also a favorite. She currently uses the Nikon N80 for slides, some of which are scanned, and the Nikon D70. She still uses her favorite camera, the Nikon FM2, as well. Frieda likes to look for the essence of the subject being captured in the photograph; looking at the world this way was inspired by some truly great photographers who live in Maryland, such as Lowell Kenyon, Tony Sweet, and Ann and Richard Rohlfing. All helped her to "see" the beauty all around more clearly. If you are interested in purchasing any of the photographs as note cards or prints, please contact her via email.
